The Boise Hawks dominated the Idaho Falls Chukars in a high-scoring 12-7 game. The Hawks' explosive offense propelled them to victory, as they scored nine runs in the second inning alone. In the top of the second inning, the Chukars struggled to get their offense going, as Sam Troyer grounded out and Bryce Brown struck out. Mark Herron also struck out, ending the inning with no runs scored. The Hawks took control of the game in the bottom of the second inning, scoring nine runs. D.J. Poteet doubled up the middle, driving in a run. Tyler Jorgensen followed with a single, bringing in two more runs. Trevor Minder and Kole Kaler each added RBI singles, while Alex Baeza drove in a run with a groundout. Poteet added two more RBIs with a sacrifice fly. In the top of the fourth inning, the Chukars showed signs of a comeback. Zach May hit a sacrifice fly, driving in a run. Tyler Wyatt singled to right field, bringing in another run. Sam Troyer then singled to right center, adding two more RBIs. These hits helped the Chukars close the gap to 10-4. The Hawks responded in the bottom of the fourth with Tyler Jorgensen hitting a double and driving in another run, extending their lead to 11-4. In the top of the sixth inning, Sam Troyer singled, bringing in a run and cutting the Hawks' lead to 11-5. The Chukars continued to chip away at the deficit in the top of the seventh inning. Zach May drew a walk with the bases loaded, allowing a run to score. However, the Hawks managed to escape further damage, and the Chukars trailed 11-6. Boise added an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh inning when Alex Baeza reached base on an error, bringing in a run and extending their lead to 12-6. In the top of the ninth inning, the Chukars managed to score another run as Sam Troyer drew a bases-loaded walk. However, the Hawks held on to secure a 12-7 victory. The Boise Hawks' offense was led by D.J. Poteet and Tyler Jorgensen, who each contributed three RBIs. Alex Baeza also had a productive game, driving in two runs. On the Chukars' side, Sam Troyer had a strong performance at the plate with four RBIs, while Cordell Dunn and Chris Monroe each scored two runs. The winning pitcher for the Hawks was Alex Smith, who pitched six innings and allowed five runs. Tom Walker took the loss for the Chukars, surrendering nine runs in just 1.1 innings. Overall, the Boise Hawks showcased their offensive firepower, while the Idaho Falls Chukars fought hard but couldn't overcome the early deficit.
